Mechanical machining
GPR profiles are fairly easy to machine and have similar machining characteristics than wood main techniques are drilling, turning, cutting, milling and bonding
Drilling
use a DIN 8037 or DIN 8038 hard metall drill for small quantities on large quantities we recommend the usage of a diamond drill using a wood underlay may prevent fringes at the drill exit points
drill speed:
hard metal drill 60 -80 rpm
diamond drill 300-1200 rpm
Milling
hard metall or diamond milling cutters are well suited for milling GPR profiles with hard metall cutter you get a higher in feed we recommend to use coolant for the GPR¥s bad heat conduction characteristics.
cutting speed: 100 - 400 rpm
Cutting
use a hack saw for small quantities, for larger numbers we recommend a diamond saw blade saw blade diameter should be according to wall thickness from 200 - 500 mm use coolant to take care of the resulting dust, without coolant an exhaustion system is mandatory
cutting speed: 1800 - 3600 rpm.
Turning
a standard equipment is sufficient for small numbers, like metall processing
for larger numbers we recommend hard metall or diamond tools and coolant
turning speed : likÈ brass or aluminum
Bonding
connect the profiles with tw-component adhesive we recommend two-component epoxy adhesive, i.e. UHU Endfest 300, Araldit ....
